Learner Permits for 15-16 year olds must be held for at least 6 months prior to obtaining an Intermediate License. They are able to drive from the hours of 5am-10pm accompanied by a licensed driver over the age of 21 years old.
For a 15-16 year old to obtain a Learner Permit, the following documentation is required:
1. Primary ID - One primary proof of identification
2. Social Security number - Physical card is not required.
3. A parent or legal guardian - If you are under the age of 18,
you must have a parent or legal guardian with you.
If a parent is not present, you must bring in a notarized Parent Authorization Form to obtain a new License.
4. Proof of Purchase, Enrollment Contract, or Completion Certificate.
Bring in your enrollment contract or completion certificate from the Commercial or public Driver Education school which you are attending or have attended.
If you do not have the above and were taught by a parent then you must bring the Parent Taught Affidavit (email printout) WITH the Parent Taught Driver’s Ed Purchase Receipt.
